WiFi PLAZA CUBA

Werner Herzog’s workshop in Cuba back in 2017 was the context in which Adrian Kelterborn’s short came into being. In response to the decrease of theater attendance, the Cuban soprano singer Maria Dolores Garcia performs a song on the highly crowded Wi-Fi plaza in her home town.

FILM

Maria Dolores Garcia no longer has a sufficient audience who enjoys her music. These days, the residents of San Antonio de los Baños prefer spending their evenings on the central plaza, where they have access to Wi-Fi, rather than visiting theatres. Situating herself at the centre of the plaza, surrounded by a busy crowd, she attempts to capture the scattered attention.

WORKSHOP “FILMING IN CUBA WITH WERNER HERZOG”

Adrian Kelterborn produced this short film in Cuba in 2017, whilst participating in a workshop led by Werner Herzog. With Herzog’s mentorship, the objective was to complete a short film within a week including everything from the inception of the idea to the completion.
